When my non-verbal daughter was three, she woke in the night and found me with rollers and mask on...needless to say she began crying and pointing. So I took down the rollers and explained that the green stuff was a beauty mask and was going to make mommy pretty....without missing a beat and of course as clear as clear can be for the first time she said..."s'not workin'!"
